2. Hear the Stories Behind Wicked Wednesdays
What happens when the lights go down at the Canadian Transportation Museum & Heritage Village?
Find out during Wicked Wednesdays: Haunted Heritage Tours, taking place throughout October.
Walk the pathways of this historic village by night while learning about its history, mysterious happenings and haunted stories. Along the way, you might hear tales of unexplained occurrences — and if you’re lucky (or unlucky!), you might even see a ghost!
Wicked Wednesdays take place October 1, 7, 14, 21 and 28 at 8:30 p.m., with an additional 10 p.m. tour on October 28.
It’s history after dark… and you never know what might be waiting around the next corner.
For the Kids, don’t miss Trick or Treating Through the Village Friday October 30th from 6pm to 8pm. $5 per child, adults free.

3. Get Intriqued by Windsor’s History
Halloween is the perfect time to discover that history can be pretty eerie — and Museum Windsor has two ways to do it this October.
Free Halloween Fun at Chimczuk Museum and ARt Windsor-Essex
On Saturday October 17th, head to the Chimczuk Museum and Art Windsor-Essex for free admission and family-friendly Halloween activities.
Come dressed in your favourite costume and enjoy a day of Halloween fun with no admission fee.

Duff Baby House Haunted Tour
For those looking for something a little more chilling, join Museum Windsor staff on Friday October 23rd from 7pm to 9pm. for the Duff Baby House Haunted Tour.
The evening begins with local supernatural legends in the Interpretation Centre before continuing with a tour of the Duff Baby House, where you’ll hear about reported supernatural experiences connected to the historic home.
Tours are $10 per person, pre-registration is required and space is limited. Call 519-253-1812 to reserve your spot.

4. Explore Park House Museum by Candlelight
There’s something especially eerie about exploring a historic building by candlelight — and Park House Museum is ready to turn down the lights once again for its beloved Lanterns & Legends Candlelit Tours.
Taking place October 30th and 31st, these special tours invite you to explore one of Amherstburg’s most haunted buildings by candlelight while hearing the legends and stories surrounding the museum.
Over the years, staff have reported strange and unusual occurrences, from hearing footsteps while alone in the building to seeing things they couldn’t explain. Could there really be something lingering inside? You’ll have to step inside and decide for yourself.
And because no fall evening is complete without a little something warm to sip, delicious mulled cider will also be available.

5. Set Sail on a Ghost Ship
Who says Halloween has to happen on land?
On Saturday October 17th, climb aboard the Windsor Premier Cruise Ghost Ship Cruise for an early Halloween celebration on the water.
Enjoy a sunset cruise with a spooky twist as DJ Chino keeps the party going with music throughout the evening. And, of course, costumes are encouraged — because what’s a Ghost Ship without a few ghosts, ghouls and monsters on board?
There’s even a costume contest, with the lucky first-place winner receiving two Sunset passes valued at $110, while the runner-up will receive two Sightseeing passes valued at $90.
So dust off your best costume, gather your crew and get ready to take Halloween out onto the water.

6. Go on an Owl Prowl
Not all Halloween creatures go bump in the night. Some fly!
On Friday October 30th, head to John R. Park Homestead for Owl-O-Ween Owl Prowl, a Halloween-themed experience that takes you into the woods in search of one of southwestern Ontario’s most fascinating nocturnal creatures.
Start the evening by learning all about local owls, including their adaptations, physiology and unique behaviours. Then, venture out on a guided hike through the John R. Park Homestead Conservation Area, listening and looking for these majestic birds of prey.
This experience is best suited for guests ages 7 and up, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Be sure to dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear for an outdoor walk — boots are recommended.
And if you’re planning to wear a costume, keep it family-friendly and leave the light-up, glow and noise-making elements at home. After all, we want to attract the owls, not scare them away!
