Windsor Essex has no shortage of the best and brightest people, places and things. For 9 years the Best of Windsor Essex Awards have sought to highlight the best of the best and this year is no exception. The 9th Annual Best of Windsor Essex Awards have been announced and you can view all winners and finalists at bestofwindsoressex.ca. Keep reading for a highlight reel of our new awards added this year, a few undefeated winners and some of our unique and wonderful best spots!
New To The Scene
We asked and you answered! We wanted to know the new themes, spots and dishes you wanted to highlight as being the best in the region! Here are this year’s newly added awards:
Best Parade – From flag waving to waving to the big man himself, parades are a much-loved tradition in Windsor Essex. Rain or shine, wind blowing or snow falling, parades liven up every street they travel down. The winner of the newly added award is the Kingsville Santa Claus Parade.
Best Bar, Pub or Sports Bar – When you want to kick back, relax with friends, catch a game and just have an overall good time. This is the spot you think of. And the winner for this year is The Grove Brewing Company.
Best Diverse Eats – Windsor Essex is famous for it’s delicious array of diverse eateries, you can Follow the Flavours to Vietnamese, Lebanese, Ethiopian, Green, Indian Mexican, Polish, German and so much more. You’re favourite culturally diverse foodie destination is El Diablo in Kingsville.

Best Fried Chicken Sandwich – A delight for the taste buds, that flavour that you dream about. Oozing with sauce, kicked up a notch with spice, when you want a bite of the most juicy and delicious you head to The Grand Cantina.

Best Picnic Spot – Waterfront parkettes and parks are scattered across Windsor Essex. We asked for your favourite spot to grab a bite and have some respite outdoors. The winner is Point Pelee National Park.

These gems are some of the most unique and definitely wonderful gems in Windsor Essex. Without further ado here’s a few of our favourites that you will won’t want to miss out on:
Best Festival – If you make it to 169 years there is obviously a good reason and this year’s winner, the Harrow Fair proves there’s nothing else like it! 2024 will mark the 170th edition of the Labour Day tradition pie contests, tractor races, a carnival and live entertainment.
Best Spa or Wellness Resort – If unwinding and relaxing is a state of mind, Estate of Health is the place to be. Featuring yoga classes, sound baths, spa appointments plus a pool, sauna and hot tub all on the lush property and welcoming vibes of the Estate. A day spent here is a day well spent indeed.

Best Art of a Cocktail – When it comes to art and cocktails no one is doing it better than Wolfhead Distillery. Since being established in 2016 Wolfhead Distillery has been crafting premium spirits in Amherstburg and incorporating the resources found in their own backyard to produce unique flavours that push the boundaries of standard Canadian Spirits.

Simply The Best
There a a select few businesses and attractions that have won the best in their award each and every year. A perfect score, undefeated if you will! Here we roll out the red carpet to the stars of the show and the awards they’ve won this year:
Best Attraction – Family Friendly – Always a fun day out with something for everything. Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens has been a fan-favourite since the Best of Windsor Essex Awards began. Go for the animals and mini golf and stay for the donuts and plants, you’re guaranteed a great time for the whole family!
Best Brewery Experience – The multi-award winning Walkerville Brewery is a mainstay in our annual awards. Their hand-crafted beer from Ontario’s largest craft brewery uses only the finest ingredients and honours the heritage of Hiram Walker and the historic Walkerville neighbourhood.

Best Golf Course – Founded in 1925 and one of the finest facilities in the area, Kingsville Golf & Country Club is a scenic course that has hit a hole in one with voters each and every year.
