The Riverfront Big Picnic

The Riverfront Big Picnic transforms Alexander Park into Windsor’s ultimate summer gathering, inspired by classic neighbourhood picnics, family reunions, and carefree afternoons in the park.

Spread out a blanket, grab a lawn chair, and enjoy an afternoon of inflatables, giant games, creative play, LIVE music, face painting, and giant bubbles. Whether you’re challenging friends to a lawn game, watching the kids explore, or relaxing in a waterfront lounge area, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Food and beverage vendors will be serving up picnic favourites including hotdogs, hamburgers, cold drinks, and sweet summer treats, while guests are also welcome to pack their own picnic basket and settle in for a relaxing summer afternoon along the Detroit River.

The Riverfront Big Picnic is a celebration of simple summer pleasures, bringing people together to play, connect, and make memories on Windsor’s waterfront

Admission and all activities are FREE and everyone is welcome.

Free Shuttle Service

Getting to the Riverfront Big Picnic is easy! Free shuttle service will operate continuously throughout the event between Festival Plaza and Alexander Park from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to park at Festival Plaza and enjoy a quick, convenient ride to the event. Shuttles will run approximately every 15 minutes starting at 1:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
