Remembrance Day Guide

The Town of Tecumseh hosts their Remembrance Day Ceremonies at the Cenotaph on the front lawn of Town Hall at 11:00am.

The Windsor Classic Chorale celebrates its 50th Anniversary Season with The Gift of Life – Songs for Hope, a Remembrance Day concert. For many years, the Chorale’s Remembrance Day concerts have been part of Windsor-Essex’s cultural life, offering an opportunity to honour those who served in the wars that have shaped our history and identity as Canadians, and to remember the profound sacrifices through which our freedoms were secured. 

 This year, we reflect on the gift of life and the enduring hope that can emerge from sacrifice. Through music, we honour those who gave so much, while celebrating the resilience of the human spirit and the possibility of a more peaceful future. John Rutter’s moving choral work The Gift of Life is the centrepiece of the concert, alongside much-loved selections including We Rise Again and You’ll Never Walk Alone, as well as other works chosen for this solemn and uplifting occasion. The Windsor Classic Chorale is pleased to present this special performance with a chamber orchestra featuring talented musicians from across the region. The HMCS Hunter Colour Guard will join the evening’s observance, honouring the service and sacrifice remembered on Remembrance Day. 

 Join the Windsor Classic Chorale this Remembrance Day for an evening of reflection, remembrance and hope, honouring those who gave so much so that future generations might live in freedom and peace. 

Activities – Poppy and Remembrance Day themed crafts are featured in the Hands-On History Room from November 10th through the 15th.   

Exhibit Opening November 11th – In 2026 the Royal Canadian Legion celebrates its 100th year as an organization. Founded by Veterans after the Great War, the Royal Canadian Legion has provided a space for Veteran commodity, Veteran employment, Veteran support and a century of memories held within the Legion’s walls. From Poppy drives to Sunday meat auctions, to weddings, the Royal Canadian Legion has imprinted itself deeply in Canadian culture. Come to the Chimczuk to explore 100 years of the Royal Canadian Legion’s rich history. 

 Free Day – Both the Chimczuk Museum and Art Windsor Essex are offering free admission in honour of Remembrance Day.  The Chimczuk Museum is open 10am to 5pm, and Art Windsor Essex is open 11am to 5pm. 

Join the Essex Royal Canadian Legion Branch as they host their Remembrance Day Ceremonies and Parade.

Parade will be leaving the Legion at 10:30am and marching to the Essex Cenotaph located at 53 Talbot St S, Essex for ceremonies to commence at 11:00am.

Head on down to City Hall Square for the Remembrance Day Ceremonies.

A parade will take place before hand marching to the cenotaph.

Ceremony will be held in front of the building at the flagpoles.

The Town of LaSalle hosts a Remembrance Day Ceremony annually on November 11th at 11:00 am at LaSalle Cenotaph Park, 5950 Malden Road. The ceremony honours Veterans who have fallen as well as those who continue to serve Canada today.

For those who prefer to take part in the ceremony from home, the service will also be live streamed on the Town of LaSalle YouTube channel on November 11th at 11:00 am, and will remain on YouTube for viewing at any time.
