Alan Doyle live at Caesars Windsor
Canadian musician Alan Doyle takes The Colosseum stage with special guest Mary Frances!
Alan Doyle is one of Canada’s most beloved performers – a singer, songwriter, author, and actor from Petty Harbour, Newfoundland. He rose to fame as the frontman of Great Big Sea, whose fusion of traditional Celtic music and sea shanties earned international success, with nine albums going Gold or Platinum and over a million copies sold in Canada.
While upholding his status as a perennial merrymaker, Doyle’s fourth full-length solo studio album, and 20th overall, Welcome Home, found the 14-time JUNO Award nominee exploring novel sonic terrain. Alongside marquee co-writers Jimmy Rankin, Donovan Woods, and Hollywood actor Oscar Isaac, Doyle presented nine original songs that are both typically buoyant and surprisingly intimate.
Across his career, Doyle is a thrice-published author, a film and TV actor-producer with multiple major credits, and the co-producer of the 20-song Ron Hynes tribute album, Sonny Don’t Go Away. Yet, the wildly popular musician remains most electrifying live audience, abetted by his ace band. “I am the luckiest guy in the world,” Doyle says. “It’s such a privilege to stand among those players on stage.”
