Tourism Windsor Essex presents Open Farms Day on Saturday September 13th
Go Behind-the-Scenes and Experience Farm Fresh in Windsor Essex
Windsor, ON – This Saturday, Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island in partnership with the Essex County Federation of Agriculture presents Open Farms Day proudly supported by Libro Credit Union. Open Farms Day is a day of family fun and discovery on the farm. On Saturday September 13th locals and visitors alike will be able to experience a self-guided journey to 16 stops in Windsor, Essex County and Pelee Island and go behind-the-scenes to learn more about how our farmers bring a taste of local to your table.
“Open Farms Day is a celebration of the incredible passion and hard work of our local farmers, who open their gates to share their stories and inspire curiosity” said Gordon Orr, CEO of Tourism Windsor Essex and CEO Invest WindsorEssex. “It’s a unique opportunity for our community to go behind the scenes, discover where our food comes from, and experience the roots of agritourism in Windsor Essex. Together, we’re building stronger connections between our farms, our people, and the future of our region.”
Visitors can go to weheartlocal.ca/openfarms and register for their free digital pass that will guide them to the 16 stops featuring on-the-farm experiences at different W.E. Heart Local program participants – fun for both the young, and young at heart. The passport will act as an exploration tool between the farms, and also the chance to win! Users need to check-in at 3 or more of the experiences for the chance to win a family fun day from Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens and Adventure Bay Family Water Park.
