Five Ways To Spend Your Extra Day!
It only comes around once every four years so you’ll want to make sure you’re taking full advantage of this year’s extra day! Thursday February 29th is a full bonus day and we have five fun ways for you to spend the day! Before you start planning, here’s a fun piece of trivia: The need for leap years arises from the fact that it takes the Earth about 365.25 days to complete one orbit around the Sun. To maintain accuracy in our calendar system, an extra day is added to the calendar every four years. However, this approximation is still not perfect, so a leap year is skipped in years divisible by 100, unless they are also divisible by 400. This adjustment helps to keep the calendar year more closely aligned with the solar year.

1. Windsor Spitfires vs Flint Firebirds
Cheer on the Windsor Spitfires as they take on the Flint Firebirds at the WFCU Centre on Thursday February 29th when the puck drops at 7:05pm. It’s Trivia Night too! So come prepared to test your knowledge!

Head to Kordazone Theatre for a wild night of camp by taking in a performance of Psycho Beach Party. The New York Times says: “Charles Busch’s ‘Psycho Beach Party’ is a comic trash compactor of a play that takes an already silly genre – early 1960s surf and beach blanket movies – and sends it to camp heaven.”. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in advance or at the door.
