YOU ARE INVITED to join us for the official unveiling and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Emancipation Celebration Monument at Jackson Park, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The beautiful new monument and gathering space will stand as a lasting tribute to freedom, resilience, and the rich Black history that helped shape our community and country. Join our special guests for a ceremonial parade into Jackson Park, the unveiling of three murals by Dennis K. Smith, music, poetry, activities, vendors, food and more on site.
