Arts Collective Theatre presents The Price of Freedom, a powerful original Canadian play exploring the story of John Anderson, a freedom seeker whose extradition case became one of the most widely debated legal battles in Canadian history.

Set against the backdrop of the Underground Railroad and the Windsor–Detroit region, the play examines questions of justice, sovereignty, and what it truly means to seek freedom. Through dynamic storytelling and an ensemble featuring University of Windsor drama students and community members, The Price of Freedom brings an often-overlooked chapter of Black Canadian history to life in a way that is both educational and deeply human.

Developed in collaboration with the University of Windsor School of Dramatic Art, this production blends research, performance, and student engagement to create a meaningful theatrical experience that resonates with audiences of all ages.
