For as long as he can remember, Steve Bramwell has been cooking. Growing up in Jamaica, he was always in the kitchen. Whether he was at home, in culinary school, or travelling in the Caribbean and North America, Steve always found himself at the center of the food industry. Steve has a passion for the culinary arts, and soon after meeting his wife Monique, decided to start his own restaurant in Windsor-Essex. Located at 425 Tecumseh Rd W, the Bramwell family have been serving traditional Jamaican eats at Stelly’s Cuisine and Catering for over a year.

Stelly’s Cuisine and Catering was born out of a vision to not just be a restaurant, but to play an active role in helping the community. Steve and Monique recognize a rise in individuals without housing and wish to do their part to support the homeless community. They have frequently provided food to famished individuals and have provided shelter for those in need. Stelly’s Cuisine and Catering are currently working on several initiatives to address the homeless issues in Windsor-Essex and strive to partner with other restaurants and organizations to combat these problems.

In addition to their work with the homeless, Stelly’s Cuisine and Catering is also an important staple in the Jamaican community in Windsor-Essex. Through their food, they hope to not only give locals a taste of their culture, but to also provide other Jamaicans with a small taste of home.

While their menu is filled with an array of traditional Jamaican dishes, Stelly’s Cuisine and Catering have also experimented with Canadian-Jamaican fusion. Their Jamaican Jerk Chicken Poutine is a fan favourite and must-try eat, offering a unique and flavourful reimagination of Canada’s classic dish.
