SUMMARY:Butterflies of the Night with Maurice Bottos
DESCRIPTION:This presentation will illustrate the incredible diversity of Ontario moths including pinned specimens from a variety of moth families. We will look at their unique behaviors\, attraction to light\, and dispel various myths that surround moths. The presentation will conclude outside with a light setup to attract and get up close with some of local moths found in Point Pelee. \nMaurice Bottos graduated from the University of Guelph in entomology in 1984. He was a Biology/Science teacher for the WECSSB for 31 years. Bottos has been studying moths for the past 30 years both locally and in the tropical regions of the world. Specifically\, he has been looking at how different abiotic factors seem to affect the movements of moths. \nCost included in admission.
