Windsor International Diaspora Festival

The Windsor International Diaspora African Festival (WIDAFEST 2024) is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated return, taking place August 16 to 18, 2024, at Lanspeary Park, 1250 Langlois Avenue. After a successful debut last year, WIDAFEST is back—bolder, brighter, and bigger—with a mission to once again unite the community through the power and pride of African and Caribbean culture.

WIDAFEST 2024 will spotlight the sights, sounds, and soul of Africa through an immersive, family-friendly weekend featuring live performances, traditional cuisine, cultural parades, fashion, art, storytelling, and interactive workshops. From the moment you enter the park, you’ll be transported into a celebration of rhythm, identity, and heritage.

To kick things off, a special launch event will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at African Village Africain (189 Tecumseh Rd W, Windsor). Guests will enjoy a lively preview of the August festivities, with live music, cultural dance, and samples of authentic African dishes.

“We are incredibly proud to bring WIDAFEST back for its second year,” said the organizing team. “This isn’t just a festival—it’s a cultural movement. It’s about honouring where we come from, building bridges across communities, and showcasing the rich contributions of the African diaspora in Windsor and beyond.”
