The Rogue Remembers Punk Rock Poem Movie Launch

Lorenzo Buj is pleased to announce the launch of of his punk rock poem movie The Rogue Remembers.

Buj published his first book of poetry, Earlybloom Bombs in 2021.

In 2022, Buj imagined a multi-person recitation of the longest poem from the book. “The Rogue Remembers”, spoken by a fictional persona looking back at the Windsor-Detroit punk scene of the early 1980s, became a collaboration with some of his previous readers and other old punks from the local scene who were willing to make a permanent recording of “The Rogue Remembers”. With the help of his brother, filmmaker Otto Buj, the project came together over the last six months, whenever the troupe could coalesce.

Scattered throughout the poem are conjurations of punk mayhem in Detroit, Windsor’s infamous Coronation Tavern, references to UK & US punk bands and albums, glam/rock figures and many other subcultural groupings, with a steady supply of literary allusions and topical grumblings on life and society in the opening decades of the third millennium

The movie has been edited by Otto Buj and will be available on YouTube as of May 6. Like Buj’s previous literary party for Earlybloom Bombs, the launch of “The Rogue Remembers” movie will be the punk rock poetry event of the season!

The happening begins at 5 PM; movie will screen at 5:30 and all will get a chance to meet and chat briefly with the author.
