The Ontario Purple Martin Association is hosting “MARTIN FEST” at Colchester Heritage Schoolhouse, 195 Bagot Street, Colchester, Ontario! Our festival is a celebration of this beloved North American swallow, which is unique in its tolerance of, dependence upon, and desire to be close to humans. Our event will be within sights and sounds of an active Purple Martin colony as well as a thriving Chimney Swift colony! Planned activities include many vendors, children’s’ games, bird banding, presentations, and speakers on various topics such as Essex County’s Natural Spaces and Species, Falconry, Bats and Raeon. Many experienced Purple Martin “landlords” will be on hand to answer your questions. FREE ADMISSION!
