Portugal is one of the ten largest wine producers in the world, with an annual production of over 6 million hectoliters. From the vineyards of the Douro to the Alentejo, passing through Dão, Bairrada, Madeira and the Azores, the country offers unique wines from our indigenous grape varieties and traditional winemaking methods.
Economic, cultural and technological factors have driven this remarkable growth. In 2023, wine exports totaled 928 million euros, with Port Wine leading international markets. However, table wines – reds, whites and rosés – have seen significant growth in various markets, reinforcing Portugal’s position as a producer of excellence.
