Northern England. 1965. Hanging has recently been abolished. A now-unemployed executioner who operates a pub with his family must deal with a rival executioner from the big city, a nefarious former assistant, the possibility that he’s responsible for hanging an innocent man — and, most importantly, the disappearance of his daughter.
Hangmen — the latest play by award-winning playwright Martin McDonagh, scribe of The Pillowman and The Beauty Queen of Leenane — will make your spine tingle with suspense, your belly quiver with laughter, and your mouth gasp in shock.
