Free Family Fishing Weekend
February 14th to February 16thΒ
Free fishing periods remind us of the value of Ontarioβs recreational fishery, and the importance of keeping it healthy for future generations. While fishing for free during a free fishing period you must:
- follow conservation licence catch limits
- obey size limits and sanctuaries
- follow the fishing regulations
- carry a permit or identification card issued by the provincial or federal government, showing your name and date of birth

Family Day fun at the libro centreΒ
February 14th – 15th
Throughout the year, the Recreation Department hosts a variety of special events designed for all ages to enjoy. From seasonal celebrations to family-friendly activities and community gatherings, this is where youβll find all the details.
Saturday, February 14
Beginner Skating: All ages. Skates must be worn on the ice and helmets are encouraged. Skate aids permitted. This program is intended for those learning to skate or still developing their skills.
Time: 4:00 pm – 4:50 pm
Family Turf Time: Families can enjoy free play with soccer balls, Nerf equipment, blocks, dodgeballs, and other recreational activities. This program is sponsored by Pathway to Potential (P2P).
Time: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Sunday, February 15
Turf Tots: Turf Tots is an indoor drop-in activity that allows children between the ages of 0-5 years space to run, develop their gross motor skills and use equipment provided the Recreation Services Division and the Essex Power Fund such as crawl tunnels, foam blocks, and sports equipment. There is no instructor, so parent supervision is mandatory. Play is at your own risk. This event is sponsored by Bright Child Montessori.

Craft Corner at the Libro Centre: Join us in the lobby for family oriented crafts.
Time: 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm
Public Skating: public skating is a fun and energetic activity to try with friends or the whole family. Use of Skate Aids are not permitted. Please see our Beginner Skate and Parent & Tot skating programs for ice time with use of Skate Aid. Public Skating is not a βlearn to skateβ program (see Beginner Skating). There is an expectation that those planning to participate have a basic skill level. Children under 13 require adult supervision.

WINDSOR SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA – LEE SIEGEL SINGS BROADWAY

Looking for some fun family friendly things to do this Family Day?
Why not lace up the skates and join us on the Loop Skate Trail at LaSalle Landing? The ice is open daily from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm! Bundle up and enjoy a fun outdoor skating experience with family and friends.Β Please bring your own skates and helmets. Helmets are strongly recommended. Skate loaning is available on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 to 4:00 pm.
Skating is weather-dependent β check back regularly for updates.
If you’re looking for some indoor activities, additional Family Day recreational skate and swim sessions have been added at the Vollmer Centre and registration is strongly recommended for both activities.

Take a ride down one of our 5 thrilling watersides which include Python, Whizzard and MasterBlaster or challenge your skills and balance on FlowRider our surf simulator. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the Wave Pool or grab a tube and float down the Lazy River. Our young guests will have tough choice deciding what to do first in the Splash Zone and Tot Loch area, but watch out for the giant water tipping bucket.

Join us Family Day (Feb 16) for a day of fun! Come and discover history in motion. Learn about Windsor’s efforts throughout aviation history, how a Lancaster Bomber saved the lives of many, and get up close and personal with the Mosquito Bomber build project! There will be many activities to participate in from paper airplane contests to learning how to rivet!

Hey parents, it’s family day on Monday and we have put together a sugarbush tour for you and your children. Dress for the weather and come walk through a traditional sugar bush with Bob guiding the way.
