Beach Bash Volleyball

The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (DWBIA), in partnership with Rotary (1918), is serving up the past and reviving the iconic Volleyball Beach Bash in the city’s heart from September 8-10, 2023.

Between 1997 to 2006, a remarkable nine-year streak, Windsor-Essex wasn’t just hosting your average volleyball games, but rather a radiant festival celebrating our love for the sport and community camaraderie.

And that’s what we’re bringing back – and then some! We’re amplifying the experience and kicking off with thrilling matches at 16 satellite courts, 12 are located at On the Beach (354 Croft Drive), and 4 are located at Collège Boréal (7515 Forest Glade Dr), we’ll then roll out the red carpet downtown.

But don’t worry – this isn’t just about the pros. Players from all walks of life, irrespective of age or skill, are called to compete! From budding grade school stars to high school aces, from weekend warriors in recreational mixed 6s to the powerhouse pro men’s and women’s doubles – we’ve got a stage set for everyone. Plus, with a blend of local maestros and international pros, expect some fireworks!

And did we mention the prizes? With generous awards across the board, our competitive mixed 6s teams have a chance to bag an impressive $1,000. But the real jackpot is lighting up the night in front of an electric crowd, right in the heart of Windsor, cheered on by thousands of spectators.

At the heart of this celebration, however, is giving back. Every ticket, every cheer, every serve will contribute, as all proceeds channel into Rotary (1918) initiatives, driving projects to end homelessness and uplift Windsor’s most vulnerable.
